Nat Weber's Coaching Philosophy PDF Print E-mail

Nat Weber Tennis Coaching ensures all players have fun, improve, keep fit and healthy, reach maximum potential and enjoy the game!

Winning is a goal, but not the only goal. I believe a player performs at his or her best when focused on performing, rather than on winning.

The more emphasis on the outcome and beating opponents the less likely a player can focus on the actions, thoughts, and emotions necessary to play well.

The Nat Weber Tennis Coaching experience starts off with introducing younger players to our Wilson PeeWee Little Champs (3-6 year olds) and our MLC Hot Shot Program (7-14 year olds). Kids are ready to start as soon as they can swing a racquet!

The use of modified courts, racquets and balls keeps things easy. Kids develop technically and tactically in a fun environment.

Nat Weber Tennis Coaching recommends all students from three and up (once they have reached a certain level of success), enroll in coaching and competition as soon as possible as both programs justify and compliment each other. Students commence coaching to gain the technical and tactical skills to be able to participate in a game of competition. Through competition students become more motivated to want to learn to improve through coaching.

Parent’s positive support and reinforcement is crucial to the child’s continued participation in the sport.  Added unnecessary pressures from the parents inevitably lead to either the child dropping the sport or a strained child/parent relationship. Read on Being A Better Tennis Parent.

Nat Weber Tennis Coaching creates opportunities for everyone with any disability to play tennis. Players with a disability are seen as “tennis players”. I reinforce their ability not disability. We make available a variety of options at all levels from social to competition, promote tennis for people with a disability, encourage local Tennis Clubs to be involved in programs for people with a disability and provide access to opportunities similar to those offered to able body tennis players.
